Coughs and Cameras and Snakes? Oh, my…

by Alison on April 28, 2010

Warning- randomness ahead…

Good friends going through not-so-good times, there is heartache all around and I wish there was something I could do.  Friends on the left hurting, friends on the right hurting, and the only thing I [...]

Junk Out 4.24.10

by Alison on April 24, 2010

No linky this week… A sick Baby J (respiratory/asthma crud) made for a distracted, busy, and tired mom, and by tired, I mean up too late, up repeatedly in the night, and  flat out exhausted.  He’s doing ok now, but I’m behind… it happens.  I’m ok with that.
I wanted to let both of you participants in [...]

Blessing My Husband Today- A Tidy Entry

by Alison on April 22, 2010

Blessing my husband, Mr. Extraordinary, is something I wish I consciously thought about every day.  Sadly, I do not.  The grim reality is that, more often than not, I’m rather selfish.  I know it’s human nature, the sin nature, but that doesn’t really make it okay, does it?
I often go about my day thinking about me, [...]

A hearty congratulations to Holly of Neaton Chaos!  I will get your book in the mail on my next “town run”, which will probably be Friday, so watch for it next week!  I hope and pray that this book will be a blessing to you- I know it has done my heart some good to read [...]

Multitude Monday 351-360

by Alison on April 19, 2010

Give thanks unto the LORD, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the people.
1 Chronicles 16:8

When children get sick, my week seems longer.  Only 3 of our 7 children fell victim to the latest bug to creep through the house, and while you’d think I ought to be an old pro at it [...]

Junk Out 4.17.10

by Alison on April 17, 2010

This week in Junk Out News, a little bit of back-story…
I thought I’d take this week to explain myself, to explain what it is I’m doing, and to explain why it is that I’m doing it.
A few years ago, when I was just starting to get busy and a wee bit overwhelmed at the prospect of [...]

Time To Plan the Garden

by Alison on April 16, 2010

Some pics from last year, pulled out for inspiration…

All we have to do now is-

start some seeds
pull out all of the old stuff that we neglected to do at the end of the season last year and toss into compost pile
start new compost pile (and remember to add kitchen scraps all season!)
till, till, and till some [...]

Kids Crack Me Up!

by Alison on April 15, 2010

“Whoa, I almost fell!” gasped the energetic Hopie.
“Well, maybe you should stop racing around like a maniac…” I replied.
“Do you know how fast that is?!” she asked.
“How fast?” I wondered aloud.
“Tons of fast!”
-Yep, that’s fast…

Mercy came down the stairs one recent morning, smiled a big smile, and informed me “Hey, Mom, I woke the sky up!”
-Thank [...]
