Multitude Monday 331-350

The Anniversary Edition

This post is going up late, but better late than never, right?  With a couple sick kids, it was “one of those weekends”, so I didn’t get to writing last night.  With a gloomy sky, not enough sleep, and apparently more than my fair share of pms, it was “one of those mornings”, and so I didn’t get to writing then either.  It’s been a long day, and I know that there is no Thou Shalt Post on Monday law, but these Multitude Mondays mean so much to me.  It does my heart so much good to take some time to consciously think about the blessings around me.  Even more so today, it’s our Anniversary, the perfect day to turn the eyes of my heart outside of my self and see in my husband so many things to be thankful for…

331. thirteen years together
332. he knows me, really well, and loves me anyway
333. he brings me Chinese take-out
334. and the occasional burrito from Chipotle- my favorite!
335. his steady job
336. he loves and respects both of his parents
337. he loves and respects both of my parents
338. he is always willing to stop for a gallon of milk on the way home
339. he makes the coffee on Sunday mornings
340. he sings bass (and can follow the baseline in the music!)
341. he is more patient than me
342. he is not shy when it comes to talking to people about the Lord
343. he has a very generous heart
344. he has a visionary/entrepreneurial mindset that inspires me
345. he can ‘network’ like no one else I know
346. available hands to rub my tired neck, shoulders, and back
347. I’ve never heard him turn down an opportunity to preach at one of the nursing homes we visit or his Dad’s church
348. he has changed a few diapers in his time…
349. he knows how much I appreciate good dark chocolate
350. he tells me I’m pretty

Ann’s post today was like reading my own thoughts from this morning.  While I don’t wish to see anyone suffer through the trials of this life, it was somehow comforting to me just to know someone else has those moments, and it’s encouraging to me to see someone else have one of those moments and purpose to keep going, to move in it, through it, and beyond.

So now I take a deep cleansing breath, and I know that “I simply need to have a grateful heart to give Him glory.”

My desire is to give Him glory.  My desire is to be grateful.  As a Wife and Mother, my desire is to live in such a way that my husband and children know how grateful I am for them, and for the God in Heaven who created us and put us together.

There is comfort in knowing others understand the darker parts of our lives.
Cultivating a heart habit of gratefulness is turning out to be more than I originally anticipated, but I'm pressing on and I'm glad you pressed through and made your list. It's a great list. God is glorified and well pleased. You are blessed and you are a blessing. His mercies are new every morning and His faithfulness is great.

Happy Anniversary dear friend. You've made it through so far, the best is yet to come!

much love and big hugs,
~traci
