If I believe that I am the best, then I’ll naturally think that I’m better than you-
If I believe that even I am far from perfect, I will be more likely to show you some grace…
If I believe that my opinion is the best, the “rightest”, and the only one that matters, then I probably won’t take the time to listen to yours-
If I believe that even I have so much more to learn, I will be more likely to listen to what you have to say…
Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. Philippians 2:3
If I believe that children are a burden, then I will treat them as such and they will began to see themselves that way-
If I believe that children are a gift, I will be more likely to treat them with tender care, cherishing who they are, lovingly guiding who they will become…
If I believe that my children “cramp my style” or hold me back from “being me”, then I will come to grow bitter towards them-
If I believe that being Mother to my children is my style, I will be much more likely to enjoy these years when they’re young…
Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward. Psalm 127:3
If I believe that I don’t know enough,
or that “someone else” will tell them,
or that it’s not my responsibility,
I may miss an opportunity to point another soul to the Savior…
But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: 1 Peter 3:15
If I believe what He says, I ought to live like I believe it.
What do you believe?

Amen …so much truth packed into one post. Thank you for this.
Thank you for your kind words. Now, if I can only remember to really live what I believe, day in day out, even on the tired days… If out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks (and actions speak louder than words), then I want to be continually working on my heart, or better yet, allowing Him to work on my heart…!
I love this Ali! Awesome post!
It is a constant thing to renew the mind. I know I need all the reminders I can get! The next step is walking it out and my road has has it's fair share of potholes (some big enough to lose a Yugo) yet, I press on toward the mark. I'm glad the journey is spotted with friends (like you) to keep us company and to encourage us along the way!
Let's keep on keeping on my dear friend!
