The Quick Bullet List Kind of Post

by Alison on May 21, 2010

Wow, life is busy, my heart if heavy, and life is busy.

  • A young friend of our oldest son, Noah, was flown to Children’s Hospital last night with a head injury.  Please join us in prayer for this young man, for a full and complete recovery.  I know the Lord is able to heal his every cell, and I hope and pray that He does!  Noah is truly the kind of young man we all want our sons to be friends with and our lives have been enriched since meeting this spectacular family.
  • My heart is also heavy for a more selfish reason, that being that I am not 8 weeks from a due date I was once so looking forward to.  I was due July 20th, and while I was expecting the weeks leading up to that date to be kind of emotional, it is still hard to be in the midst of this valley of sadness.  I’m ok, I have the best Comforter there ever was, but I’m still right here in this valley, experiencing the sorrow of loss.  I can’t imagine going through such sorrows without Him, I don’t know how so many people do..
  • I took Grace and Hope down to Children’s Respiratory for more follow-up appointments with their pulmonologist.  They’re sounding great (lungs) right now.  Amazingly, with this crazy pollen count season, their allergies have been mild, and their asthma even milder.  Praise the Lord!  The only concern right now is that Grace’s pulmonary function tests have shown a slight, but steady, decline.  He wasn’t overly concerned, the numbers are still doing ok, but he is/we are in watch and see how she does mode…
  • Along the same lines, our youngest, Baby J, has been showing signs of following down the asthmatic path.  This does not make me a happy camper.
  • Our home school co-op has ended, our home school studies are winding down to the bare minimum we continue with lightly over the summer (we keep them reading and doing some light math) and I’m already excited, perhaps a bit too excited :-) for next year.  We’ve decided to change it up a bit and use Sonlight for our History, Geography, and Literature.  I love a Literature rich program, and the checklists that keep me moving along will be a blessing.  Did I mention I’m excited about it?
  • We have an old greenhouse full of seedlings and are eager to get the garden growing.
  • We have an upcoming violin recital to be practicing for.
  • We have Revival meetings at our church this week, which are so timely and such a blessing, but I will admit they make for a very long week, especially considering our 45 minute commute and putting 7 children to bed late night after night…
  • Mr. Extraordinary will be preaching at his parents’ small church this Sunday.  Praying that the Lord will give him what they need to hear, that He would bless their little congregation in the same way that He has been blessing us.  He has been so good.
  • Hitting me between the eyes today, from today’s chapter in Proverbs-

Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the LORD pondereth the hearts.
To do justice and judgement is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice.
Proverbs 21:2-3

So much going on, so much to think about, so much to pray about.

Have a blessed weekend!

I totally understand the busy life thing!!! Whew!

Our family will lift your family, and Noah's, up to the Lord in prayer. Know that we love you and cherish you. We are always here for you, for any thing. Your faith and trust in the Lord Jesus always encourages and comforts me (you know how much I tend to worry about my loved ones!).

"Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest." ~Joshua 1:9

Just hopping over to view your WW and caught this post. I was due July 18, 2009, as well as June 15, 2010. One ectopic, one miscarriage. Just wanted you to know, I share in your pain of loss. Just when I think I'm through the valley of sadness, something happens and I'm overtaken again. How do people get through things like this without Jesus? I'll never know. "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." Psalm 34:18. You're in my prayers!

Thank you… as good as it is to know I'm not the only one to go through a pregnancy loss, to know that there are other women who know what I'm feeling, it's also hard to know that… to know that someone else has had to deal with the same sadness and heartache… I'll be praying for you as well!

Ooo, I somehow missed this post, maybe I was expecting to see updates on fb? Anyhow, What Sonlight level/core are you using? I go back and forth every year about whether to take the plunge or not, though I use most of their books anyway :) I'm interested to see how it works for you and how y'all like it. A question: have you blogged lately about what your high school age son is doing? Mine are a ways away from that, but I'd be interested t know!
