Saturday Snapshots

New to Saturday Snapshots?

I take pictures, lots of pictures, possibly even too many pictures, if there really is such a thing.  I don’t always have the time have much to say about some of the keepers, but I still have a desire to share them.  Enter Saturday Snapshots- an excuse to post some of my favorite pictures of the week, sometimes with brief explanations, sometimes standing alone, leaving more room for imagination.

I thought that maybe, just maybe, there might be a few others out there who’d love a chance to put up some favorite pics of their weeks, with or without words, just to share with their readers (and maybe especially with those long-distance relatives, hey guys!)

I’d love it if you’d join in! Somebody? Anybody? Photographer wanna-be (like me), or photographer really-be, everyone is welcome! Just please remember this is a family-friendly blog, hosting a family-friendly photo link-up… (and I do reserve the right to delete links containing any inappropriate images, sorry, but this is the internet, and I had to say that.)

I try to get my post up on Friday nights, for the world to awake to on Saturday morning (mostly because I don’t actually want to be blogging on Saturday morning, but do want to have some content up, I can’t be the only one…) I’ll be aiming for some time around 10 or 10:30ish pm CST, and will announce the linky on Twitter as soon as it’s ready. Sound like a plan? I thought so.

And, just so you know, (as if you couldn’t tell) I am not a professional photographer (though I would love to become one when I grow up).  What I am is a mom, with a camera, who cannot seem to get enough of capturing the moments.

I soak up information like a sponge, and love reading photography books, blogs, tips, and tutorials, and while my staged shots are improving dramatically, the quick snapshots of our lives just happen as they come, without great lighting, without clean backgrounds, even without brushed hair and clean faces

That’s what this linky is about- not about perfection, (though I’d love to see your pefectly fabulous pictures- they inspire me!) but simply about capturing the moments, snapshots of our weeks, captured on your top-of-the-line camera, your bottom-of-the-line camera, or even your old cell-phone…
